In 1949-1976 AD Tikhomirov worked in Moscow combine monumental and decorative art ( KMDI ) to create portraits of Lenin and the party leaders for a festive decoration of buildings and streets of Moscow. In the history of official Soviet art 1950 - 70 's he became an author Leniniana and very large portrait of Lenin in the world (42 x 22 m ) .
Few people knew that in his spare time on official orders Tikhomirov not affiliated to any unofficial artistic trends, to create paintings of biblical scenes on the topic fantastic East , theater and circus .
