The exhibition covers various aspects of life in the early twentieth century: the celebration of 300 years of the Romanov dynasty, the events of World War I, February and October Revolutions, as well as the daily lives of different classes - family holidays, home theaters, sports, street scenes ... Widely represented Russia's culture of the early twentieth century and reflects its landmark heroes. Particular attention is paid to architecture and urban landscape of Moscow, St. Petersburg and the county towns of Russia.
The task of the exhibition - to return to our consciousness the reality of historical fact, without his mythological Soviet, anti-Soviet and post-Soviet interpretation. Answer simple questions "what", "where?", "When?". The book and exhibition helps us to emotionally survive the events of days past and think about the fact that each of us is a direct participant in creating the history of their country. Every minute, living us, becomes an invaluable historical facts.
The exhibition presents the best photographers of the twentieth century, among them: Charles and Victor Bulla, and Nabgolts Sherer, Boasson, and Egler, Gauthier-Dyufaye and Dmitriev, and at the same time, photographs of unknown authors, whose names have not yet appear in the history of Russia's photographic art.
