In the picture, written in 1932, Picasso painted his mistress Marie-Therese Walter, with whom he had met in 1927 in Paris. Their relationship continued until the end of 1930, in 1935, Walter gave birth to Picasso's daughter Maya.
Record the value of the picture was installed in May 2010, at auction Christie's. The previous record belonged to the sculpture of Alberto Giacometti "Walking man I", lasted only a few months.
