Vladimir lackeys (1932 - 2002). A revolutionary or a lyric?

One of the most talented graduates of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts of the second half of XX century, Vladimir lackeys gained fame as a master of monumental historical paintings, "Soldiers of the Revolution" (1964), "You fell a victim" (1969), "Builders" (1959). Artist name thundered throughout the Union, and his paintings were constantly exhibited at the set-union and zonal exhibitions. Russian Museum acquired his painting "The soldiers of the revolution" straight from the exhibition "Big Volga", held in Kuibyshev (Samara) in 1964 [1].

Incredible success for the time the young artist has allowed VA Holuevu receive substantial financial support from the Union of Artists. All the time he devoted to creativity, traveling around the country and the world [2]. Already at this time, influenced by Rudolf Frents and Evsei Moiseenko, V. lackeys who have studied at the Academy of Arts [4], formed the style of the artist. Themes of the revolutionary struggle, and work, people he passed with expressive lines, major strokes, bright and yet harmoniously compiled in color stains. Historical subjects and portraits of heroes of labor distinguish the desire for a romantic compilation.

Within a few years of V. lackeys deserved reputation as a master of social themes, and in 1975 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. The activities of the artist in Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod), where he moved at the invitation of the Gorky branch of the Union of artists contributed to the formation and subsequent flowering of the Nizhny Novgorod school of art. Under the influence of his work grew more than one generation of talented artists of Nizhny Novgorod [5].

However, there is another side of V. Holueva, which is rarely reflected in the union and republican exhibitions, so it is still the least known. Being a man of versatile, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge, he never ceased to be interested and admire the surrounding world, as reflected in the many lyrical images that the artist has created throughout his life. This romantic Volga landscapes and paintings of rural life, and still lifes, and portraits of women, which make it possible to take a fresh look at his work.

In these works confront us with the artist-philosopher, who in the silhouette of Russian churches, or in the vast clouds of heaven sees the basis of the universe. He looks to the past, but portrays him as a present, which we do not notice the bustle around him. Russia's image appears in the powerful architecture of ancient cities - Pskov, Novgorod, Moscow Kremlin. Nostalgia sounds kinds Petersburg.

Who was one of the most outstanding masters of the Soviet realist school of painting? Talented creator of large-scale paintings work, people of the Soviet people or fine lyricist and philosopher?

One thing is clear - the name of Vladimir Holueva is in line with the names of the leading Soviet masters: Alexander Deineka, Vladimir Serov, Tkachev brothers, Vyacheslav Zagoneka and other worthy disciple of Rudolf Frents and Evsei Moiseenko, Vladimir lackeys are not only fully implemented the covenants of the teachers, but and managed to create his own unique style of romantic socialist realism.
