Talented Soviet artist, an outstanding teacher.
He spent his childhood in the colony cheerful life. " There he studied painting and writing in the style of Cezanne's still lifes. Since 1916 Pochitalov met with Pyotr Konchalovsky, which influenced his work. In 1924-30 he studied in the class of easel painting in the Higher Art-Vhuteine (workshop of Alexander Shevchenko).
In 1928, a permanent participant of Moscow, republican and All-Union Art Exhibition.
Since 1936 - Member of the Moscow branch of the Union of Soviet Artists. From 1936 to 1948. - Associate professor of painting and composition of the Moscow State Institute of Art, Senior Lecturer of painting and composition at the Moscow Art School. Since 1948 - Associate Professor of Art and the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts in Moscow Textile Institute.
I learned all Pochitalova any significant representatives of the official Soviet painting 1960: Valentin Sidorov, Victor Tsyplakov, Vladimir Stozharau, Viktor Ivanov, Paul Ossowski, Ivan Sorokin, Edward Bragovsky, Max Birstein, Basil and Mary Nechitailo Helium Korzhev, Ephraim Zverkov brothers Tutunovy etc.
