St. Petersburg City Court upheld the refusal to return the painting of Charles Bryullova "Christ in the tomb" collector Alexander Pevzner, who is suspected of smuggling.
"The court refused to grant our appeal, which we also challenged the lower court refusing to stop for me, a criminal case under article" contraband "- said Pevzner, currently located in Germany, the RIA Novosti news agency.
FSB collector suspects in smuggling paintings from Belgium to Russia with the aim of further legalization by placing in the State Russian Museum. Pevsner himself claims that he had brought the painting for restoration.
Now the "Christ in the tomb is located in storage at the Russian Museum as evidence.
