Painting of Paul Gauguin "Still Life and l'Esperans" written in memory of Vincent Van Gogh, did not find a buyer at auction in London Christie's, which was held on Wednesday, February 9.
Gauguin's canvas, which is nowhere to be exhibited for 15 years, was considered the top lot of the auction. Its expected to sell for about 10 million pounds sterling (16,1 million dollars).
The most expensive lot in the past auction was the picture of Pierre Bonnard's "Terrace at Vernon" (Terrasse a Vernon). It sold for 7.2 million pounds sterling.
