Exhibition of Chinese Art has set attendance record
Exhibition of Chinese Art "The revolution continues" at a London gallery of Charles Saatchi has set the record for the number of visitors to exhibitions of contemporary art, said The Guardian.
C since opening on Oct. 9, 2008 gallery was visited by about 525 thousand spectators. The previous record was set in 1997 exhibition "Sensational BritArt" at the Royal Academy. The number of visitors was 300 thousand people.
The exhibition presents the work of thirty contemporary artists in China, among them - Zhang Dali, Zhang Huan, Liu Wei, Peng Yu, Sun Yuan. Entrance to the gallery is free.
Currently, the Chinese art has reached a leading position - the 20 best-selling artists of the world, 11 were Chinese.
Gallery owner Charles Saatchi is planning to organize a large exhibition of works by artists from the Middle East.
"I do not know whether our next exhibition match with the current, but the work of Middle Eastern artists themselves stunning," - said Saatchi.
