The Ministry of Defence will continue to finance the Theatre of the Russian army from its budget, Interfax reported citing a statement Minister of Culture Alexander Avdeev.
According to him, the journalists could misinterpret the intentions of Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov to get rid of noncore assets, in particular by cultural institutions.
"I ask my colleagues treat the statement of Anatoly Serdyukov Eduardovitch the way he treats them. He spoke of those cultural institutions that do not tend to be on the military budget. To the theater of the Soviet army it is not true," - said Minister of Culture.

He added that the theater is beautifully renovated by the military establishment, is operating normally and is a success. "There's your problem, there is the problem of providing living space, but they are the same everywhere," - admitted Avdeev and asked everyone to "calm down".
Comments of the Ministry of Culture was a reaction to the publication in the press information that the Defense Ministry intends to get rid of non-core institutions of culture, the most famous of which is Moscow's Russian Army Theatre.
In particular, it has been suggested that these assets may be sold at auction.
Serdyukov himself until the situation could not comment.
