You have, in general, not a vase, and the old chemist's vessel (or its modern imitation), most likely, and German. The inscription at the side means "Aq. Bryoniae" - "Brion water - plant root extract hulwort white (Bryonia alba). In the old days used in medicine to soothe coughs, and also, in large doses as a laxative.
