The exhibition presents sculpture, paintings by the artist and tapestries. The artist studied with famous masters such as Wassily Shukhaiev Merab Tsintsabadze. Significant influence on his work had a private communication with a famous artist Barbara Bubnov (V. Bubnov took part in "Youth Union", together with Burliuk, M. Larionov, Goncharova, Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin and other representatives of this group) and the art critic and painter Peter Kulchitskim (a close friend of Filonov), whose life and work are closely related with Abkhazia. Possessing a strong natural talent, Gennady Lakoba in his work uses a huge stock of cultural, artistic erudition, allowing himself to look in different creative directions, and learning from past masters to create their own unique style.
Gennady Lakoba is among the artists who get pleasure from the creative process. This is the joy of emerging ideas, sometimes tesnyaschih each other from trying sometimes prolonged and persistent embody them, and even the inevitable "creative suffering." In sculpture Lakoba does not stop at the found, but is constantly looking for new ways to put their feelings. Artist owns the plastic language of antiquity and the twentieth century. But this range is too small for Lakoba. He feels the need to speak to other materials in graphics and painting, ceramics and tapestry. All of these art forms are combined in the artist, without interfering, to each other - they destroy the "shop" the canons, to borrow the expressive possibilities and synthesizing new ones.
