In his literary works Karazin more committed to effective and entertaining than the artistic and ethnographic truth. Simultaneously with the appearance on his literary career, he appeared before the public as a painter and vinetista. His first paintings, reproduced in politipazhah were placed in the "World Pictures" in 1871 Since then, he never ceases to provide illustrations of Russian and partly foreign publications, representing mainly batalicheskie and ethnographic subjects, safely treating also the theme of any other kind.
