Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky (1817-1900) - painter, seascape, painter of battle. Was enrolled in the Simferopol gymnasium. Then he was accepted at government expense at the IAH St. Petersburg and enrolled in a landscape painting class of Professor Maxim Vorobiev. In 1835 he was awarded a silver medal and was designated the Assistant to the fashionable French landscape painter Philip Tanner. Participated in the autumn exhibition of Fine Arts in 1836. In 1837, Aivazovsky received a gold medal for his painting "Calm". In 1844, he became a painter of the Naval Staff, and from 1847 - professor at St. Petersburg IAH, was also in the European Academies: Rome, Paris, Florence, Amsterdam and Stuttgart. Was awarded many medals and received the rank of admiral. Opened an art school in Feodosia. Was elected a member of the Odessa Society of History and Antiquities. His works are in Feodosia art gallery, TG, RM.
