По умолчанию Auction Gallery of Leonid Shishkin 10/28/2010

October 28, 2010 in Leonid Shishkin Gallery held an auction "at Neglinnoy Soviet classics." At this time, the collection includes 99 lots, including works of famous Soviet writers - Pavel Sokolov-Scalia, Basil Meshkov, Helena Generic and Paul Radimov. As always, the auction will feature the works of Nicholas Gorlova, Ivan Kovalenko and Noah Gedenidze, whose work was rediscovered by Leonid Shishkin.
Top lot of the upcoming auction was the work of the Moscow artist Dmitry Domogatskii (1920-1982) "Horse Racing. Moscow Hippodrome "in 1958. Domogatskii - author of genre paintings, seasoned in the tradition of Russian realist school of painting, he became known primarily for his depictions of horses from life. Preliminary assessment of his finished work impressive size (1,5 to 1,1 m) is 400-450 thousand rubles. Interestingly, at the same auction will be considerably earlier sketch for this painting, executed in tempera in 1956. Sketch, but captivating work directly estimated at 140-160 thousand. The proximity of these two beautiful things can trace the development of the author's intention.
Special attention at the auction on October 28 deserves a series of works related to Central Asia. It is interesting, especially the works of famous artists - such as landscape, "Spring" (estimate 200-250 thousand rubles), a talented artist of the Uzbek school of painting Nicholas Karahan and canvas 1962 "Samarkand. Shahi Zinda "Vladimir Gorsky (estimate 300-350 thousand rubles). However, the local color - the Central Asian nature, the charm of the eastern cities with their narrow streets and noisy markets - at least managed to convey clearly and artists Nicholas Pudovkin ("Mosque of Emir Guram. Samarkand, 1989, estimate 45-50 thousand rubles) and Boris Brynskikh ( "Tashkent. Directions Alma 1967, estimate 70-90 thousand rubles).
Of the significant upcoming auction lots worth mentioning as "Autumn Bazaar in 1918 (estimate 250-300 thousand) hand of the Soviet" peasant poet and artist Paul Radimov (1887-1967). The artist was the last chairman of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions in this paper can still feel the influence of style Wanderers. Another important work - a portrait of a woman in 1944, created by Basil Meshkov. Illustrated by the artist model - is likely the daughter of Josef Stalin, Svetlana Alliluyeva (estimate 200-220 thousand rubles).
Also on auction will be submitted very rare on the market an artist, a famous cartoonist and writer of satirical illustrations for the magazine Krokodil Boris Prophets (1911-1972). At the auction exhibited two watercolor illustrations from the library of "Crocodile", "Passenger" and "Railroader", estimated at 30-40 thousand rubles, and also lyrical in mood pencil "Portrait of Julia", estimated at 80-100 thousand rubles.
