Exhibition dedicated to the art of Rene Lalique, organized within the Year of Russia in France and France to Russia. It without exaggeration be called a revolutionary jewelry. He was a bold experimenter in working with colored stones and enamels, and various metal alloys. In the history of jewelry name Rene Lalique is on a par with the renowned Russian master of Carl Faberge, the famous French jeweler Frederic Boucheron and Louis Francois Cartier, the renowned American artist and designer Louis Tiffany.
In the Moscow Kremlin Museums presents about a hundred and seventy of the artist. Among them are paintings, jewelry and accessories created by Rene Lalique in the period 1886-1887 years in the 1920's, furnishings and art glass, made in the style of Art Nouveau and Art Deco at the turn of the XIX-XX. The works presented in the exhibition belong to museums around the world and the well-known private collectors. Among them, the State Hermitage Museum, State Archives of the Russian Federation, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Museum of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon, the Danish Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen, Lambin Museum in Versailles, the Museum of Fine Arts in Quimper, Joint Stock Company "Lalique in Paris and others.
Retrospective creativity Rene Lalique, the first time such a complete picture of the exhibition is a significant event in the international artistic life. Symbolically, that some works the artist executed in the 1896-1897 years to order the French government, served as the official memorial gifts during the visit of Emperor Nicholas II to France in 1896 and the French President Félix Faure to Russia in 1897, representing the friendly relations between the two Powers.
