The exhibition "The Art of Rene Lalique" opened yesterday in Moscow. According to head of the exhibition department of the Moscow Kremlin Museum Victoria Pavlenko, the exposition will feature jewelry made at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, as well as "experiments with glass - vases, bowls, lamps, which will be complemented by a set of sketches.
Thanks sketches visitors will be able to trace the entire path of creating a work of art - from idea to a specific embodiment, said Pavlenko. "We Lalique had his own style that no one be confused, and the exhibition was meant to trace all the stages of his work, to see how it worked," - said the employee of the Kremlin museums.
The exhibition demonstrates the order of 200 subjects of one of the principal masters of the era of "Art Nouveau", including brooches and pins with the characteristic of modernity zoomorphic motifs. The Kremlin will be exhibits from the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, Museum of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon, Paris Society "Lalique", Danish Museum of Art and Design, the Hermitage and other collections.
