It is no secret that in this period, hard times and the initial formation of the Russian art market in a relatively small money you could buy real masterpieces of Russian art. Amounts in $ 10.000-20.000 seemed huge. It is no accident, because for that money you could buy an apartment in Moscow. But even at such a time for the graphic work of Valentin Serov's "The Rape of Europa" (sketch by well-known work is stored in STG K. Tempera 71h98) at the auction was paid $ 62.000 (a photo of this work I present below).
Of the 11 works designated as «not sold», 5 can be confidently attributed to falshakam or incorrectly attributed, and the remaining 6 - this work (which depicted Lenin) of the same namesake Valentin Serov Soviet artist Vladimir Serov.
