For half the year in Belarus, buy and sell works of art not only through the commission store or on the black market, but in a civilized manner - at auction. Their hosts an antique-auction house "Paragis", the only of its kind in the territory of the republic. In May, the auction was sold to the picture without a name, which is shown by her bird dubbed "the Rooster". Starting price for the lot of Belarus unprecedented - 450 thousand dollars. A total and does even more - 650,000. At the September auction "Paragis" put lithograph "Woman-Bird". She also bought, though, much cheaper - for 3 thousand dollars. Both paintings are declared to be works of Marc Chagall. His granddaughter, vice president of the Committee Chagall (France), Madame Meret Meyer Graber categorically asserts that sold "Paragisom" pictures - a fake. Director of antique auction houses Andrey Berezin insists otherwise.
