Born Jonathan Callan in Manchester in 1961. Now the author lives and works in London, and his work has been exhibited not only at home but also abroad. Callan works included in the collections of museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the British Museum in London, the Whitworth Art Gallery (Manchester) and Art Gallery Firenza (Hull).
Any librarian would be aghast by the fact that he turns into printed volumes. Author drill holes in them, cuts the paper into the tiniest particles and sticks together dozens of books among themselves, intricately wrapping page. "Such I have a man - explains Jonathan - I'm interested in breaking things. Most subjects did not seem real to me until then, until I figure out what's inside.
