The second day of Russian auction at Sotheby's
The second day of "Russian auction" conducted by auction house Sotheby's in London, managed to sell just over a third claimed lots. Total for auction on November 25 was billed about 300 works of Russian painting XIX-XX centuries, but buyers are interested in a little more than 120 lots.
Among the most expensive lots sold by the second day of the "Russian auctions" were: "Shut Mikhail Klodt gone under the hammer for 313,2 thousand pounds for a preliminary assessment of 120-180 thousand pounds," Glade "by Ivan Shishkin, sold for 289.2 thousand pounds (estimate 150-200 thousand pounds), and "Calm" by Ivan Aivazovsky, for which was paid 193,2 thousand pounds (preliminary assessment - 150-200 thousand pounds).
Results of Russian painting at the auction held on November 25 in two sessions, lots were sold for a total of 5.9 million pounds sterling. The first day of "Russian auction" Sotheby's in London sold lots on the 14 million pounds.
