Three icons of the collection de Bouar found in London auction
Lawyers for the former wife of Michael de Bouar (Elizabeth) Elizabeth Love was asked about a criminal case on smuggling of three icons from the collection of de Bouar. As RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Russian Agency for Legal and Judicial Information System (RAPS), specialists Rosokhrankultura found these work among lots of trades that took place in the UK.
At the tender MacDougall's Russian Art Auctions, which were held in London from 7 to 10 June, were on display the icon "St. Simeon the Righteous with selected saints, Our Lady of Kazan to the Saviour, evangelists and selected saints and the Virgin Hodegetria (lots 52, 58 and 118, respectively). On the page with the outcome of trades have information only on the first icon, which was sold more than 15 thousand dollars. Others work or were withdrawn from the auction, or were not sold at the time of publication of the list.
Advocates for the interests of Elizabeth Love said that in London had sent an official request about bidding. Rosokhrankultura not yet made a formal comment on the matter.
In February 2010, the widow of a collector Tatiana de Bouar (Michael de Bouar married her after her divorce from Elizabeth's Love) has announced the theft of icons from its collection on display in the museum Tzaritzyno. Later it became known that the icons took Love de Bouar, which, according to representatives of the museum and provided work for the exhibition.
Their rights to part of the collection attempt to prove in court as the children of the late collector - Andrew Vyazemshev and Irina Berezhnaya. At 75 works, which were transferred to the Pushkin Museum of Fine, the court seized. Location of at least 117 icons from the collection remains neizvestnym. /lenta.ru
