Buyer has a Spanish company Oro Direct, which specializes in trading in precious metals. The coin has been implemented for the amount of more than four times greater than its own denomination - one million Canadian dollars (780,000 euros).
Organizers of the auction - firm Dorotheum - noted that such a high cost due to expensive gold coin in the world market. Recall that in June the price of gold has set another record, exceeding 1,260 dollars per troy ounce. 100 kilograms of gold at the current price in 1255 dollars an ounce will cost about 4.1 million dollars (3,28 million euros).
