In Tsarskoe Selo June 23 grand opening of the three state rooms of the Alexander Palace, Interfax reported. After restoration for tourists were opened Semicircular and portrait rooms, as well as marble living room - they were inaccessible to the public in 70 years.
The opening ceremonial halls dedicated to the 300 anniversary of the Tsar's village, celebrated in the summer of 2010. The ceremony was attended by Russian Minister of Culture Alexander Avdeev, who gave the Tsar's village as a gift a portrait of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna of her sister Elizabeth Feodorovna.
Restoration work in Tsarskoe Selo began last fall, after the Alexander Palace was handed over to the management of the administration Museum (before it is partly owned by the Ministry of Defence). As expected, June 24, the grand opening of another monument on the museum - the hall of the Hermitage. During the summer, will open several restored pavilions in the Catherine Park.
In honor of the anniversary of the museum-reserve, in addition to a portrait of the Empress, the Tsar's Village has received a gift of a few pieces of art. The State Museum "Pavlovsk", in particular, gave the museum 29 items (including furniture and paintings), previously stored at the Alexander Palace, Tsarskoe Selo and were transferred to 13 dolls late XIX - early XX century.
