CORINE, Pavel Dmitrievich (1892-1967), Russian artist. Born in Palekh June 25 (7 July) 1892 in the family iconographer. In 1912 he entered the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, from which he graduated in 1916. Among his mentors were Korovin, and SV Malyutin, but the main teachers were Corina AA Ivanov, and MV Nesterov. Corinne lived in Moscow, often bumping into Palekh.
Dreams of a young artist to create large canvases, equivalent Ivanovski Messiah, finally took shape in the Donskoy Monastery, on the day of burial of Patriarch Tikhon (1925). Massive crowd of believers inspired by Corina Requiem, now that would realize "Holy Russia" at the turn of the tragic change. In the 1932-1959 Korean supervised restoration workshops of the Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Pushkin. He collected the most valuable collection of ancient art (the exposed - along with works by the artist himself - in his Moscow home-museum, which opened in 1971).

Corinne died in Moscow on November 22, 1967.


1952 - Stalin Prize for the mosaic mural for the subway station "Komsomolskaya-ring"
1954 - elected a corresponding member of USSR Academy of Arts.
1958 - People's Artist of the RSFSR, elected as a member of the USSR Academy of Arts.
1962 - People's Artist of the USSR.
1963 - Lenin Prize for his portrait of MS Saryan, R. N. Simon, R. Guttuso, Kukryniksy.
1967 - the Order of Lenin.
Died Nov. 22, 1967 in Moscow, was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.

In 1968 in Moscow opened Museum PD Korin (address: ul. Pirogovskay Low, 16, wing 2), now - a branch of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
In Palekh of the Ivanovo region in 1974 was opened Museum the artist's family.
