The outbreak of war Seago serves with the Royal Engineers and becomes invalid in 1944, once Field Marshal Alexander invited him to Italy to capture the Italian campaign. There he met many leading politicians such as Churchill, Macmillan and George VI, who later became his patron. This order is considered a watershed in his career. After the war, Seago wrote already, mainly landscapes, although they continued to paint portraits. His wartime work was exhibited in the gallery Colgnahi in 1945. The exhibition was so successful that the impressions of his works have become annual until 1967 These exhibitions have become part of world art. The queue was formed long before the opening of the exhibition hall, and the sale of numbered directories one by one in hand was the only way to avoid chaos.
