After the Second World War in the Russian photography has developed an interesting situation. On the one hand photographers, who received 30-e gg, the last war, so to speak photographers with a name (Anatoly Garanin, Yevgeny Khaldei, Arkady Shaikhet, Max Alpert, Boris and Olga Ignatovich, etc.) and on the other side - young amateurs who have come into professional photography . They learned from the masters of the old school, and old masters learned from them. Were so to speak, two creative groups, and there was no confrontation between them. This younger generation of photographers called the sixties. I would say - the phenomenon of Russian photography. This Valery Ikari-Rothe, Oleg Makarov, Aleksadr Rubashkin, Igor Gnevyshev, Nikolai Rakhmanov (on my first turned to color photography), etc..
Of the 90 contemporary photography:
Valery Schekoldin - photojournalist, combined with information and artistic photography;
Oleg Smirnov - I personally remember the pictures of Chechnya;
Valery and Natasha Cherkashin - already recognized experts in their field;
And finally a very, very contemporary noted Sasha would Manovtseva. I really liked her series "Grand Theater"
