Initially, the famous square of Malevich first arose in the scenery of the opera "Victory over the Sun" as the plastic expression of the victory of the active human creativity over passive form of nature: a black square instead of the solar disk. This was the famous scenery of the fifth stage of the 1 st action.
"Square" played a role in the design of Malevich's funeral in 1935. During the funeral, on an open platform of the truck with the image of the black square on the hood has been installed Suprematist sarcophagus, and over the tomb (near the village of Nemchinovka) was placed a wooden cube with the image of the black square. Soon the grave was destroyed.
