At Sotheby's auction in New York was a record price for the work of British artist Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1836 - 1912), reported ArtDaily. Picture "Finding of Moses" (The Finding of Moses) was sold for 35.9 million dollars. The upper limit of the preliminary assessment was 5 million and, thus, was closed for more than seven times.
For leaf fought three customers (two - on the phone), bidding lasted eight minutes. The previous record for a work of Alma-Tadema was installed the same pattern in 1995 when it sold for 2.8 million dollars.
