Zdzislaw Beksinski (1929 - 2005)
 

Zdzislaw Beksinski (1929 - 2005) - one of the most mysterious artists of postwar Europe.
Living and working in communist Poland, he has managed to achieve worldwide fame and notoriety through his unique work, the style which he called the Baroque and Gothic. True, this recognition came to him rather late - in the late 70's, when the iconic Swiss artist Hans Rudi Giger declared him the greatest painter of our time.

February 22, 2005 painter, was found dead in his apartment in Warsaw. His body was found 17 stab wounds.
