A number of music historians believe that the violin belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte himself, but documenting this version does not.
"Molitor" broke the record price for a musical tools that belonged to as Stradivari violin. In May 2006, "Hammer", created by Stradivari in 1707, was sold at Christie's for 3.544 million dollars.
