Вложений: 1
The estimated 3-4 million dollars a picture Briton Damien Hirst did not find a buyer for the New York auction house Phillips de Pury & Co on November 13. In general, the results of auction of works by contemporary artists, writes Bloomberg, been disappointing: the leading evening managed to sell lots on 9.6 million dollars with that conservative estimate of the total results of 23 million.
Hirst's painting entitled "Beautiful Artemis Thor Neptune Odin Delusional Sapphic Inspirational Hypnosis Painting" ( "Mad Sapphic inspired hypnotic painting beautiful Artemis, Thor, Neptune, one") was put up for auction in New York by Larry Gagosian Gallery.

Browser to Bloomberg noted the absence in the hall Phillips de Pury buyers from Russia and China: Clients auction houses from these countries much market opening for contemporary art.

Because of the global financial crisis, all the November auction of contemporary art ended with the low results. Thus, the total income Sotheby's and Christie's totaled 238.7 million dollars against 429 million expected. The representative of the house Sotheby's, commenting on the results of modern art auction, suggested that prices for works to revert to 2006 levels. According to the collector Eli Brod, "bottom" in the sector art market has not yet been reached.

There is a positive outlook on things:) http://artinvestment .ru/news/auctne...y_results.html And the fact that Hirst is not sold? Well on his solo auction not one but five of the things not sold out. Not always did he sell? Picasso is not for sale much more often:)

Not always did he sell?

Indeed, how many of you can? past is not digested ... And then the dealers themselves are afraid to buy, and suddenly this tipchik something else such things will kick ...

A pomoemu just this picture and not bad, temperamental. Another thing worth 3.4 million and yet with you, our forecast is that contemporary art should prosest true. Let the others. Let me remind you: "Good things buyers will find medium - medium, bad - not sell." In my all clear.

Another note that she has a width of 6 meters. HUGE hulks are often faced with liquidity problems - they simply have no place to place.

Vladimir, Dear Volodya, I assure you, who live in Khrushev they do not buy ...

Vladimir 17.11.2008 14:00

The one who buys them, at home (in the palace, etc.) is not one picture hanging. And such Hurst "crush" all around, it requires a special room allocated. Not for nothing is a room in the Tate Rothko, for example?

good reason to have a room in the Tate Rothko, for example?

Interesting article about Hearst. Apparently, he was too worried:)

I read an interesting article about Hirst's here: http://artinvestment.ru/news/artnews...on_crisis.html

The chain of reasoning is interesting, such a cynical view of the buyer:) "Kill" the last paragraph. What was he thinking at all?

Despite the crisis, "found at the bottom of" the artist is not going. He had already confirmed their words with action that is going to make their work more cheaply. Now in London Pangolin Gallery sold its new sculpture of a unicorn named "Dream is dead." Incidentally, for 500 thousand pounds. On solo auction is almost the same unicorn left for 4,1 million. Hurst is also planning to produce several works in the spirit of the "golden calf", which was sold at Sotheby's for 10.3 million pounds. It is expected that in the galleries of these creations will cost much less.
