From site ARTinvestment.RU
Yesterday, August 5, in the Benois Wing of the State Russian Museum exhibition opens "Hymn to Labor", representing the Soviet art from the museum collection. The exhibition comprised some 200 works-paintings, drawings and decorative arts 1910-70-ies associated with the industrial theme. Most of them are exhibited for the first time. Industrial theme, once having more than the ideological significance, was one of the most important in Soviet art. The exhibition gives the viewer the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of the Soviet era, take a walk on a makeshift alley of heroes of labor and get acquainted with the works, highlighted by a monumental sound and civic fervor. The heroes of these works are shown at work at steel mills, factories, oil fields or industrial construction projects. In the industrial landscapes K. Bogayevsky, Kuprin A. W. Christmas and thematic paintings A. Deineka, K. Petrov-Vodkin, A. Samokhvalova, V. Pakulin and other famous artists have reflected the main trends of development of Soviet art 1920-30-x years. A special section of the exhibition are paintings and sculptural portraits of heroes of labor, which can be considered classical examples of socialist realism, the postwar period. Along with these activities are the works of "severe style", to seek a new plastic and shaped the interpretation of the industrial theme. The dynamic atmosphere of labor was also embodied in the posters and N. G. Klutsis Kochergina, in the classic works of the Leningrad graphics V. Vetrogonsky in porcelain, glass and unique samples of the Soviet artistic textiles 1920 -------------------------------------------------- - Friends who will be on exhibition write a few words ..
