How to sell a Rubens?
 

To me today asked a German friend of mine with a few non-standard thing: one of his friend the owner of the painting by Rubens, would like to sell it ... Can you tell me how come this kind of deal in Russia? Through auction or through dealers?
The painting is currently on special storage in Germany ...

Where better to examine and evaluate in Moscow, or the issue is better addressed in the West?

They have hundreds of different proposals for painting a day.
Any proposal for first names, without certification, and history, is only laughter.

2-3 months ago have already been informed of the work of Rubens from Germany (perhaps it is about this work?). Provenance little muddy and the conclusion was not obtained to those who have been in storage.
Regarding the work of your friend, I think, examination can be done in the West, although for reputable auction is more important than provenance, which will need to document.
