Franz Xaver Shteber (German Franz Xaver Stöber; February 20, 1795, Vienna - April 11, 1858, ibid) - Austrian engraver. Son of Joseph Shtebera (1768-1852), also an engraver.

One of the pioneers of the Austrian prints. The author of a series of portraits of Austrian artists. Illustrated book of Henry Joseph Hoelzl "Tradition poets of antiquity in the visual images" (German: Der Mythos alter Dichter in bildlichen Darstellungen) sixty-one woodcut portraits with the characters of ancient mythology. Shteberu is attributed as watercolor depicting the funeral procession of Ludwig van Beethoven [1], although it is possible that this water belongs to his father and namesake Franz Shteberu (1760-1834).

Portrait of Friedrich von Amerling, has long been regarded as a portrait Shtebera and characterized by a striking example of friendly relations one artist to another [2], in all probability, represents another person [3].
