Recently visited the exhibition of Soviet photography in the center of the photo the Lumiere brothers. The exhibition is large, and collected quite a lot of photos. In the first place, liked the organization of the exposition: selected from 5-6 good photographs of each author, and their exhibition at about 70. Thus, indeed presented a photographic snapshot of the period 1960-1970s. At the visitor's emerging understanding of the state of photos of that time, the level of artistic photographs by famous photographers.

Soviet picture, many associated with the production, with a focus on advocacy, the falsification of the events and embellishment of Soviet reality. This, of course, that was, but you should not think that the photographers of the period did not engage in artistic photography. Perhaps their work is not always included in the context of Soviet ideas about the pictures (I mean installing on photos, when in 1930 a report was declared the highest form of photographs), but photography existed. And now we have the opportunity to see pictures of that era, about the creation of different schools, different authors.

In the photo: the center itself, the types of exposure. People, by the way, was a little, but considering that was a weekday, it's still pretty good. The exhibition was accompanied by a light pleasant music.

The exhibition also the work of photographers Lithuanian school 60s: Antanas Sutkus, Alexander Macijauskas. This is a separate phenomenon in Soviet photography. Works of Lithuanian photographers were all less susceptible to social realism. The photos were more "free" is not always romance, and were considered "lyrical" in comparison with the Russian photos.

An interesting description of a picture was given in the biography of photographer in the exhibition:
Photo of "Duel" was made during a business trip to Lviv. Street scene attracted the attention of the photographer. Against the backdrop of white walls, two men found out the relationship. They did this so expressive, looked so impressive in their identical black hats, which had only to press the button. Photo telephoto shot.

All photographs in the exhibition live, art, some pictures taken off of "free" for those years. I wonder how true this generation for such a photo?
Clearly, this is already history, and many photographers will remain inscribed in the history of Russian photography, but still in the context of contemporary Soviet photography looks like?
