The first exhibition in Russia of Joan Miro
 

Tuesday, June 8, in Moscow opened an exhibition of Catalan surrealist Joan Miro, said channel "Culture" with reference to Itar-Tass. The exhibition, which runs at the Museum of Private Collections Museum of Fine Arts Pushkin, will be open to the public until June 24.
Exposition small - only 10 works that Miro created in 1973, but Moscow will be a landmark event, as previously exhibition of this artist, is rightfully considered one of the leading surrealist and abstract art, do not take place in Russia.
The exhibits provided by the Museum of Modern Art "Es Balearic", which is located in Palma de Mallorca. On Mallorca, Miró had lived since 1956 in a villa built specially for him by his friend, architect Jose Luis Certo. To move from Barcelona to the Balearic Islands was its long-held dream. Thus, all the late works was connected with life on Mallorca, which gave the name of the whole series of works represented in Moscow.
As explained in the press-service of the GMII im. Pushkin, this series was printed edition of just 50 copies. Drawings in the works of Miro, which critics called "the most beautiful feather in her hat surrealism", is not the last place. He appealed to the art of engraving in the late 1920's, while living in Paris. During this period he created several important cycles of illustrations to works of the Surrealist poet.

This exposition of the museum Miro on Mallorca. Workshop itself is not very big, and close the museum, too modest, but very in harmony with the works of the artist. Judging by the wealth of special location of the workshop at Miro was not, but still work and fame.
