This is George (George) A. Lapshin (1885-1950 yy)
Born on 7.04.1885 in Moscow, in early 1900-ies he studied at the Stroganov School. In 1906 he went to Paris, where he studied under 3 years Cormon F. and J. Lhermitte. During his studies in Paris, George Lapshin creatively took Impressionist school and remained faithful to her in his work. Back in Moscow, participated in the exhibition of Independent (1910), became the founder and permanent member of society free art exhibitions (1911-1917). Participated in exhibitions "union painters in Moscow" (1918), TPHV (1922), Russian art exhibition in Berlin (1922).

In the early 1920's George Lapshin settled in Paris. Since 1925 the French exponents of the Society of Arts and the Salon independent. The artist traveled extensively throughout Europe, has created a series of marvelous, invigorating landscapes and still lifes. Today, they are very popular in many European auctions. The significant price increase on George Lapshina works began in 2004 when the Paris bid Aguttes of his Venetian landscape was sold for 47 000 Euro with significant excess of estimate.
