Auction Bukowskis 1-4 June 2010. From the Russian - painting, icons, silver, DPI. Roerich fairly decent size and small price for such things. If it is true, of course. Why do some very cheap, and again a decent size Levchenko, clover-son, Dubovskoy, Nalbandian:

Lot 1255, evidently a portrait of John Antonovich (aka Emperor John III, he's the Emperor Ivan /John VI) with the artificial addition of age.

PS I decided, nevertheless, do not rely on physical resemblance to check for Literature Cavaliers. Order of St. Andrew's was granted the fairly minor, but here the Order of St.. Anna gives a different result.

There were only two people had two orders in the low age:

1. Carl-Peter Ulrich, Crown Prince /reigning duke of Holstein-Gottorp, later Emperor Peter III.
2. Pavel Petrovich, Grand Duke and Tsarevich, later Emperor Paul I.

In my view, both characters do not look like child's portrait. Pavel Petrovich's some similarities there, but, rather, because of the knowledge that this could be it.

I would have recognized this portrait doubtful.

And on Paul I like. No?

Lips are not so. Yes, and nose ... What my father (Peter III), that his son (Paul I) - was very recognizable.

In the portrait you submitted to Paul's nose corrected :)

This 1777 portrait of the year, maybe Pavel Petrovich.

Erikssonshowed.

Yes, again it only under a different name.
In 2008, it was a "Portrait of a Woman, unknown artist, 17 Century, and now -" Lady in a yellow dress and red shawl, the Russian school of 17 century. "
It is interesting that a young man with the Order of St Anne and the lady was placed in odnin "monarchical" series - between Catherine and Alexander II. I personally like two years ago, and now think it is Anna Ivanovna in her youth. And the painting is good, too Anything better than the terrible Catherine II "from the circle of Giovanni Lumpy" in which estimeyt twice .

By the way, you noticed how much this time, the Gardner? No way, someone passed the whole collection.

PS-Human SergeiSK - prices for paintings clearly underestimated. Prior to the "crisis" level, although the crisis is now seen as having passed, and the major auctions in recent months are more than successful. But the glass with Khodynka risen in price for some reason just 6-10. Miracles!

I do not know how to Gardner, and the price of LPF are quite high. Especially in the cup and "Dead Souls"

The auction is the third day of a surprisingly brisk. Return is not until more than 10 percent, to vskidku ...
Carl Fredrik Hill with its "Flowering Tree" went on the first day for a record 9.2 million euros - almost a million euros.
Today the Russian bid. I wonder what will go Roerich, Makovsky and "all the King's Men" - in the sense of kings to queens. Oh, and porcelain, of course.

But Hill, and vryam, beautiful:
