At an auction put up one of the most valuable paintings by Munch

Christie's auction exhibited painting by Edvard Munch "Fertility", one of the most valuable works by the artist remaining in private collections, according to ArtDaily. Lot estimated at 25-35 million dollars, the auction will be held May 4 in New York.
The picture was painted by Norwegian artist in the late 1890's, in 1902 it was acquired by Dr. Max Linde, who helped Munch gain success in Germany. Since 1918 "Fertility" was in the Scandinavian private collections and regularly lent to exhibitions owners. Supposedly, the woman depicted in the painting - is Tully Larsen, the daughter of a wealthy wine merchant from Oslo, and the bride Munch. Relationships girls and artist were broken off in 1902: when Munk announced a desire to leave, Larsen tried to kill himself, and the artist, taking her weapon, accidentally shot himself through the finger.
