Pay attention to the ears in a portrait.
Ears, hands and feet - this is a test of aptitude for the artist.
Funny examples of when the ears are hidden in his hat, his hands in his pockets, his feet in the grass is more than enough.

If I brought just a reproduction, I would say that it was between 1845 and 1855, the terms Bryullov at best.
