In the center of contemporary art «Aurum» from 3 March to 1 April 2010 is an exhibition of painting and graphics member of the National Union
Artists of Ukraine Olga Kotova.
The art project consists of two parts:
in the exhibition halls of the gallery and intermediate «Aurum» exhibited «nu», and in the great hall art cafe - still life, so live and dead natures meet and complement each other.
Scenes of nudity, attracted artists throughout history and practice of art, ranging from statues of stone in the ancient world, and in painting from Pompeii murals. Woman was worshiped as a goddess - a source of inspiration and beauty. In the twentieth century. In connection with the changing value system, women were pictured in a more brutal (remember in the beginning. XX. "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" by Pablo Picasso, or "Madame Matisse" Henri Matisse, vplod to the image of women as a commodity in the conceptual art in the 1970-ies., irony of postmodernism, etc.). In modern art side by side these two extreme tendencies: from admiration to contempt.
In this project the attitude towards women can be called chaste admiration. The task of the artist - the embodiment of a harmonious world through coloring. Interior setting with «nu» solved in the warmth that is dictated by the very topic. Blonde, brown, brown-haired, brunette, seated in a rocking chair or vozlegayut on beds. Sometimes a ray of light glides over the surface of the form, snatching it from space. The artist uses a variety of materials (fabric, paper, cardboard) and engineering (oil, watercolor).
Genre still life (born nature morte, Eng. Stil life) as chosen by artists since time immemorial. In these works
still life combined with the traditional approach with the innovations XX /XXI centuries. Thus, in «Nature morte» (2006) is built into a reproduction of Rembrandt, but in "Three garnets" (2010) - cloth. Collage approach makes the present work.
