From the Center for Contemporary Art Witte de Witte (Witte de With) in Rotterdam disappeared banner size of 30 to 11 meters, which was part of Russia's installation art group AES + F. It is reported ArtDaily.

The incident occurred Feb. 19, when the banner "Trimalchio's Feast" (The Feast of Trimalchio) was removed from the building of the museum Witte de Witt, to be replaced by another image - as a giant portrait of Michael Jackson's work of German artist Isa Genzkow (Isa Genzken). The workers were so busy installing a new installation, that did not notice the "Feast of Trimalchio, who was lying on the sidewalk and disappeared.

The museum director expressed surprise at the fact that the work of this size could steal in broad daylight. Artists have already been reported missing, police are busy looking for the installation.

"Trimalchio's Feast," named for the Roman character of the novel "Satyricon", became one of the four giant installations on the facade of the building, the combined title "Between you and me" (Between you and I). They should be placed in the museum for one year in the big exhibition "Ethics" (Morality). Russia group AES + F (Tatiana Arzamasova, Leo Evzovich, Eugene Svyatskiy, Vladimir Fridkes) was already a "Feast of Trimalchio" at the Biennale in Venice.

Flawless and long-tested way to draw attention to himself.

I'm tormented by the question behind this one person or group? Probably, it's still that sort of fan club art group AES + F! They travel to all the exhibition art group and as soon as is convenient opportunity steal everything that is related to their idols ... Although it is possible that this may be a very, very steep single collector! Edakii huge fan of masterpieces! Purchases someone has tremendous heart and eggs Jeff Koons! What did not happen in our time! All the same post-modernism in the yard ...

Giant work Jeff Koons:

Tjutchev, and you've seen live work Koons? They are beautifully executed. This high technology. From the metal objects are made with an ideal surface, with the perfect curvature, you believe that this is really inflated balloon or satin ribbon, but not N-ton Makhina. T e completely no idea izyana painting or surface treatment. I can not imagine how.

Al-all to the question whether the omen of art is difficult or impossible to repeat? This is expensive and difficult. This is not a pot with three protruding armaturinami.

Seriy, I saw live work Koons and even touch their hands. And I have seen modern airplanes, trains, computers, and so on. This "high technology", it is done "expensive and difficult" but it's not called art (though in themselves these things are very beautiful). If the arts and the art of design! I am not against the design, but I understand it is not about design, but about art in a certain (traditional) sense. If we call art objects with those characteristics that you identified, in museums, there is no place sculptures in marble and even more so from the more prosaic materials. There would be no job to write a normal paint and painted the more conventional graphite pencil. Their place would have taken all sorts of weird things from «Philips» and «Sony». What it tells me that in art the main criterion still does not, the cost and complexity of technology, and something else.
