Returned in Cesena in 1951. The next period (to 1956) marks a transition from "social realism" to the "existential".
Some critics, who see his paintings of those years as depression and pain Alberto sugi replied: "Since my first show in Rome in the 50 years I have made an interesting discovery about my work said they were sad and depressing ... But I never used a gray color to make the sadness and pink for hope. When you paint, the mind and the hand act with purpose and determination. The purpose of painting is not pity, but to represent. In those years it was customary to talk about Alberto sugi as a realist, Antonello Trombadori put it on a par with Edward Hopper. In the early 70's Alberto leaves his studio and returned to Cesena.
He begins a series of works titled Dinner (La Cena) (post 1) , which is a metaphor for the middle class society, and in which there is some analogy with the "realism" by German artist Gross and Dix. To be continued Images of paintings do not coincide with the text |
Thank you very much, iside!
Concerning the "realistic" period, I would not compare it with Hopper, and with Wyeth. Hopper (who was very fond of) land, and your sugi brings with Wyeth (which is also very fond of) a certain "flyuidnost. Yes, and the mood they are, it seems to me closer. A Dix and Gros - also, in my opinion, wrong. We sugi no inherent aggressiveness and some vulgarity. And on the distant influence of Munch's nobody wrote? For me it is obvious. I did not know that the artist must have thought to see a lot of times, but I like him. Very Italian - reminiscences mass :) |
the influence of Francis Bacon in sight ... I really liked
