Vladimir Orlovsky Donatovich was born in Kiev, where the city school received my first lessons in drawing I. Soshenko. While studying at the Academy of Fine Arts (1861-1868) Young B. Orel visited many places of European Russia: in the Crimea, Kiev and Tauride provinces, Moscow, Finland. For studies and student work academics won two silver and a small gold coin. On the competition program graduate of the Academy presented three Crimean landscape, which brought him a gold medal, the title of the class artist of the first degree and three-year trip to Europe. The artist studied museums and writing in France, Switzerland and Italy.
On his return from abroad, a lot of work, traveling to Russia, brought back from trips drawings, sketches, paintings. Since 1874, V. Orel - academician, and from 1878 - professor of landscape painting and member of the Academy of Arts. His canvases with views of neighborhoods of St. Petersburg, the Ukraine and central Russia and the North Caucasus - welcome guests at the domestic and international exhibitions. Much attention VD Orlovsky has given the development of fine art in the country. Special part - in the development of art education in Kiev. His works are represented today in many museums, art-lovers showing a model in the Russian landscape of the second half of XIX century. |
