MOSCOW. January 7. Itar-Tass. Director of the State Museum of Architecture named Schuseva David Sarkisyan died on the 64 th year of life. As said on the radio station Ekho Moskvy architect Eugene Asse, David Sarkisyan died in a Munich hospital after a long illness.

"This is a colossal loss for the entire architecture of Russia, - said Eugene Asse. - It was David, in those years when he was director of the Museum of Architecture, has made it a museum of modern art, there has attracted new people, youth, did the architecture of the cultural event of national scope."

He said: "It would be difficult to find a replacement for such a man. He even did not know how much what he has accomplished in office.

David Sarkisian, was an architect by training, but few have so devotedly loved the architecture. It was my friend, his loss for me great personal grief, "- concluded Eugene Asse.

David Sarkisian was born in 1947 in Yerevan. He directed the State Museum of Architecture named after AV Schuseva since 2000. In that position, he repeatedly opposed the destruction of architectural monuments and historical places of the capital restructuring.
