Ilya Semenovich Ostroukhov (1858-1929) - Russian landscape painter and collector.

Member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, the Union of Russian Artists, St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. A friend of Pavel Tretyakov, one of the leaders of the Tretyakov Gallery.

From a merchant family, studied painting privately.

Collecting paintings and icons. Collection of icons Ostroukhova considered one of the best in Russia.

In 1890, opened a private museum. In 1918 the museum was nationalized and Ostroukhov appointed guardian of his life. Since 1920, called the "Museum of icon painting and painting the I. Ostroukhov. After the death of a museum curator disbanded and its funds went to museums. Much of the collection of icons Ostroukhova is in the collection department of ancient Russian art of the Tretyakov Gallery.

Buried at the Danilov Cemetery in Moscow.

Now the memorial house of the artist and collector, is a museum Ostroukhova "Russian literature of XX century". The museum will organize exhibitions on the history of removable literature of XX century and artists associated with the literature. For 15 years the museum has more than 200 exhibitions of literary writers of the silver age, including the Osip Mandelstam, Anna Akhmatova, S. Yesenin, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Berdyaev.
