He graduated from the Kharkiv Art Institute (1931-36), where he studied with Vladimir Kasiyana. Member of Republican, all-union and foreign exhibitions since 1932. Personal exhibitions: Kharkiv - 1940,1944,1954,1975, Moscow - 1946, Sumi - 1953, Kiev - 1958. He taught at HHI-HHPI (1937-64), Professor (since 1961).
