A. Baturin (b. 1914) - the oldest of the now surviving disciples and followers V. Sterligova. The artist in his own heroic destiny, who spent years in Stalin's camps, he is the least likely (as happens sometimes with many worthy people) do from their past suffering of the foot for the current success. Amazing vitality and faithfulness to artistic principles helped him to withstand the ordeal, he and the Gulag was able to notice the beauty of nature.

Baturin met Sterligov during the life of his teacher - Kazimir Malevich - in 1931, he began his study, but another meeting after all the mishaps took place only after nearly a quarter of a century. To so deeply as Baturin, to accept principles of teachers and keep their loyalty, was only one way: to make them completely their own, merge them with its own personality.
