Simple, interesting information. (EA)
------------------------------------
Что же такое «Улей», существующий уже более века? This famous hostel and hospice for the rebels, artists from around the world, created by the talented sculptor and a generous philanthropist Alfred Boucher. Firmly adhering to his nickname of the house on the original form of the building, as well as the truly bee hard work and productivity of its occupants.

In Montparnasse, in "The Hive", and continue to fly flocked artists from all over the world: those fleeing persecution, who are trying to forget the unhappy love, but all - to find himself.
Here reigned genius Amedeo Modilya, Marc Chagall. In addition to these luminaries in the "Hive" worked, and many other great artists, which later received wide recognition or friends only to professionals.

Alfred Boucher (known sculptor), being once in the bistro at the entrance to Danzig, a conversation with his boss. He told that he was ready to sell the land in 5 thousand square. m, located in the neighborhood, anyone who will pay for 20 sous for meters deal was immediately struck. It was in 1895 when Bush himself did not know what he would do with this land, which acquired "just in case.
And a few years later, during the closure of the Paris World Exhibition in 1900, he saw a ruined pavilions and, as a practical man, decided to buy her a curious form of the rotunda, where the pavilion was wines. :) The Rotunda, this was designed in the workshop and the Eifel was a typical example of architecture of that time. Rotunda was Peres travel Danzig.
Sculptor Alfred Boucher was mediocre, but in the late 19 th century. had more orders than, for example, Roden. No man he was kind and generous, and richer, he decided to spend some money, some of his fortune to help young artists. He created a hostel he nazavl! "Beehive" ( "La Ruche", "La Ruch"), which is the sound of the "Marseillaise," and was inaugurated in 1902.
Bush has ordered to do inside the building 24 shops triangular, very narrow, which then themselves as tenants nicknamed "coffins". Nearby, however, have built several buildings for the family, more, shall we say, konfortabelnyh, because in the hive or running water, or other amenities not. :D Family hostel called "the prince's corner. ;)
