At Christmas auction were very successful sale of works by the artist Boris Thalberg. All the works were sold with a significant excess of estimate.
Quite interesting, in my opinion, the work under the numbers 85,86,87 painted by Peter Ivanovich Petrovicheva provoked strong concern in the hall. All were sold and the per-unit 87, after "real hard fight" the buyer has paid more than a million rubles.
Also from within the upper ceiling of the estimate were sold to work Basil Kirillovich Nechitailo (lots 77 and 78), but rather boring sketch Lot 79, if my memory serves me, was not sold out.

Unfortunately I can not share your enthusiasm. I saw the sale of forged artworks still alive (ie, alive), but the older "classics" (works, often small).
The auction house is easy to "consecrate" the object by its name and provenance "came from a private collection", then how to check whether the author of this work possible. But, obviously, with the apparent "corruption" of items, all the more profitable "does not bother."
